Didn’t *quite * make the mini break this year? Then let Hush and Canard Duchêne transport you (in a socially distanced fashion) to the sun-kissed vineyards of Champagne with Hush’s latest Autumn courtyard take over, The Golden Hour.
Reimagining the rolling Reims parkland where Canard Duchêne makes its home, The Golden Hour sees the Hush courtyard transformed into a vineyard oasis in the heart of Mayfair – think tumbling russet leaves, twirling grape vines and garlands of autumnal flowers – giving you all the feel of France without having to worry about quarantine!
The courtyard takes its cue from the vendanges, that perfect moment at the end of Summer when the golden light is ‘just so’ and the autumn harvest begins, and of course it wouldn’t be a champagne harvest without plenty of champagne to taste. You will be able to enjoy both Canard Duchêne’s Léonie Brut and Rosé by the glass and bottle, both the 150-year-old champagne house’s signature blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Alongside these, Hush head bar tender Kasia Witkowska has created three very special champagne cocktails, available exclusively throughout the Golden Hour takeover. The Rose Gold Twinkle is a pink-hued twist on an easy-drinking classic, with Canard-Duchêne Lêonie Rose, Russian Standard Vodka and elderflower cordial, whilst the French Kiss (Canard-Duchêne Lêonie Brut, Beefeater Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and lemon) is a tribute to the epic love story of Canard-Duchêne founders Lêonie Duchêne and Victor Canard, or, for something sweeter and richer, the Imperial Eagle (Canard-Duchêne Lêonie Brut, Plymouth Gin, Creme De Cassis and Campari) is a royal purple nod to the House’s unusual coat of arms; a two-headed imperial eagle, symbolising its ties with the court of Russia.
The Golden Hour will be lending its light to Hush’s courtyard from the 14th Septof ember until the 20th November – stop by for an experience worth staying in the country for! profhilo
